Credibility is key

Another thing God convicted me in the camp is the need to have credibility.. In Communication Studies, we have learnt that 3 aspects of a speaker affect how effective is the words he speaks - logos which deals with the logical aspects of the words he speaks, pathos which deals with the emotional aspects of the words he speaks and ethos which deals with the ethical aspects of the words he speaks.. In my previous 2 entries, I have talked about the importance of love (which deals with the pathos of the speaker) and how love moves people.. In this entry, let us explore credibility (which deals with the ethos of the speaker) in God's eyes..

Matthew 5:33-37
Oaths
33"Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.' 34But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

yupz.. I believe God's words regarding building credibility is simple.. v37 - Simply let my 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and my 'No,' 'No'. Brothers and Sisters who are reading this post.. do keep me accountable if at any time I should let my 'Yes' be 'No' or my 'No' be 'Yes'.
