of Mary and Martha

ahh.. finally got to meet up with Han Yang and Si Da, making it closer to fulfilling camp objectives no. 2 (spending extended time with people who matter to me).. ohh and Kairu as well.. shared quite a bit when we met up to call for Campus Tours.. anywayz, yesterday was just discussing with Si Da about the below passage.. and after listening to him sharing about Jie Hui going on a spiritual retreat, I decided to have a short time of just being like Mary and sitting at Jesus's feet listening to what He said as I got back home.. not the best place with parents and sister around but nevertheless, it was still good not having to think about anything but God.. but I must say that I was so tempted to think about Campus Tours how none of my freshmen has replied to let me know if and when they can make it for the Campus Tours.. so tempted to pick up my phone and call/sms them.. then also got some cg stuff.. also very tempted to ask Gen Shen if he found the survey forms he lost alr.. but then again, listening to Jesus speak is the best thing that could ever happen and probably it could only happen if I choose not to be distracted by the preparations that had to be made..

Luke 10:38-42

38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.[f] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

anyway, during the time of spiritual retreat, I reviewed the notes I made during camp and reflected on them.. just felt God was reminding me of the need to rebuild the temple of my heart which was what Pastor Jo ministered during the Corporate Prayer Meet.. just felt God wanted me to study in-depth the story of two rebuilders, Ezra and Nehemiah, at that point in time but sadly, haven't done it until now then reminded of it.. maybe should ask someone (maybe my shepherd) to study the two books together with me so that I could be kept accountable..
in all, I guess what God said to me during the spiritual retreat is only a very simple thing but very important.. and I guess like Mary, Jesus will say that I have chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from me.. Thank You Lord for promising that Your presence and Your voice can never be taken away from me..
